About us

ABZ was founded in 2001. Our mission is to develop innovative and powerful XML processing software within dedicated system architectures. Our justification is technically oriented. We focus on application development with am explicit preference on Open Source software. Moreover, we offer you comprehensive consulting and technical trainings in XML processing standards and tools.

Most customers of ABZ are banks and companies in the financial area. Our experiences cover the application of several financial standards for instance XBRL and FinTS.

XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language)

XBRL is a language for the electronic communication of business and financial data. XBRL is being developed by an international consortium. In Germany the XBRL Deutschland e. V. is furthering the standard with the goal to harmonize business reporting. XBRL is an open standard and free of licence fees.

XBRL offers cost savings, greater efficiency and improved accuracy and reliability to all those involved in supplying or using financial data. Its main application areas are reporting and analysis which are applied by accountants, banks, stock exchanges, investment analysts and regulators.

ABZ Reporting is a leading provider of XBRL tools. Its open source XBRL processor ABRA is widely used by institutions like IASCF and Bundesanzeiger (Federal Gazette).

FinTS (Financial Transaction Services)

This FinTS standard was created for bank customers and manufacturers of banking products (PFMs) for the communication with their banks (multi-banking support). The intention of FinTS is the interface standardization between banks and customers. It is being developed by the Central Banking Committee (ZKA - Zentraler Kreditausschuss).

Thomas Klement (one of the founders of ABZ Reporting) was heavily involved in the specification work for FinTS Version 4.0.

SOA (service-oriented architectures) become the foundation for easily creating cross platform applications. Complexity is a fact of life in information technology (IT). Dealing with the complexity while building new applications, coupling an application with other existing applications, and keeping up with all the maintenance and enhancement requests represents a major challenge. ABZ provides services and products with the aim of reducing the interoperability costs for such interfaces.

XML Publishing

XML becomes more important in almost every area of publishing. It supersedes its predecesor SGML and languages which are embedded in markup code. This applies to cross media publishing, web applications, content management and technical documentation. ABZ has a wide experience int the field of XML publishing. Therefrom, our customers benefit from our practical knowledge in building sophisticated technical publishing infrastructures.
